Option 1: Badrinath
Trail: Ghangaria- Govindghat(Trek/14kms/5-6hrs) – Badrinath (Drive/24kms/1-2hrs)
Perched in the cradle of Nar and Naryana mountain ranges is the Badrinath town. Badrinath Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu which makes the uniquely crafted statue of Vishnu the central attraction. Walk down to Govindghat which is a 14km walk. From Govindghat, drive to Badrinath. The drive takes you along river Alaknanda which is a pretty exciting drive. You will pass through village Pandukeshwar and Hanuman Chitti, where Hanuman temple is located. This is an uphill zigzag drive till you reach Badrinath. A local legend has it that Pandavas, from the Mahabharatha, passed through Badrinath to ascend to heaven.
